Forget free tequila tours that sell over-priced products and take a real master-class instead.

Many free Cozumel tequila tasting and "tequila factory" tours have sprung up in Cozumel recently and most are little more than stores that offer a free drink and brief explanation before selling you tequila at exorbitant price.

Our tour is very different.

You'll take part in a tequila master-class with an expert trained at the famous José Cuervo tequila distillery in Jalisco, Mexico (not simply a sales assistant on commission).

You'll learn the origin, history, method of preparation and, of course, the correct way to savor and appreciate this wonderful beverage.

As you're guided through a flight of three distinctly different tequilas:  Blanco, Reposado and Añejo, you'll literally taste the aging process and importance of wooden barrels.

Using natural ingredients like lime, cinnamon and coffee; you’ll learn to detect the subtle flavors and components that make up Mexico’s famous drink.  Much like a fine single-malt whisky, these are tequilas of incredible quality and deserve to be sipped and savored.

You’ll also experience the joy of a handcrafted chocolate, mango or fresh lime margarita, and learn how to create your own using natural ingredients.

Depending on your arrival time, before or after the tequila tasting you'll also enjoy a full guided visit of the Discover Mexico Park.

And after you’ve worked up an appetite, it’s time to taste the history of Mexico with a delicious open-air lunch, featuring regional Mexican food.  Watch hand-made corn tortillas cooked to perfection for your very own taco sampler, and try the habanero chili sauce if you dare!

Of course, you can also buy bottles of the excellent tequila you've tasted, and rest assured you're getting a genuinely good price.
